Myofascial Release
Each muscle is held in shape by a thin lining of tissue called fascia. This fascia also connects to each other, keeping the body in shape and highly mobile. When one part of the fascia is tight, it can cause tension in a different part of the body which can lead your muscles feeling tight all throughout. Myofascial Release is a slow technique that targets the fascia with pinpointed pressure that drags across the muscle to help loosen that outermost layer.
Benefits of Myofascial Release
This is a slow and deeper massage that focuses on an particular area where you're feeling pain or tightness. It's very in depth and methodical to help release the problem in your body.
I recommend this massage to someone that has long-term pain. Due to the nature of the massage, pain tolerance is a factor that should be considered, as well as being comfortable with the body. I tend to work on the origins and insertions of the muscle which tend to hold more tension and be in more sensitive areas.
This session is usually paired with multiple sessions within the same month or short time-span. Let's talk about your issues together to best determine if a schedule should be in place for the most optimal results in releasing the tension in your body.
